# Spaces > Spaces is a messaging API and an MCP server. An agent reads and sends messages for the person who connected the account. Channels: Instagram (DMs, comments, and a private reply from a comment into a DM when the platform allows it), WhatsApp (more than one number, each connected with a QR code), LinkedIn, Messenger, Telegram, and one-to-one email on Gmail, Outlook, and IMAP. Brand name: Spaces. Domains stay spacesos.com, app.spacesos.com, and api.spacesos.com. ## When to use Spaces Use Spaces when the task is any of these: - Answer the messages customers send a business on WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Messenger or X, from the accounts the business already uses. - Book, move or confirm appointments, take orders, answer questions about stock, prices, hours or delivery, and close support tickets inside the chat the customer started. - Hand a conversation to a person on the team when it needs one, and stay out of it afterwards. - Follow up with people who know the business and expect to hear from it, stopping as soon as they reply or say stop. - Give an AI agent one MCP server or REST API for several chat channels, with limits that keep each account safe. Do not use Spaces for: - Cold outreach at scale, bulk unsolicited messages, or bought or scraped contact lists. Spaces refuses the same cold text sent to many people. - Messaging anyone who has said stop. - Working around a platform's limits, for example splitting one account across workspaces or reconnecting to reset counters. - Template broadcasts to large lists on WhatsApp: that is what the official WhatsApp Business Platform is for. How accounts connect: WhatsApp by QR code, like linking a computer; Instagram, LinkedIn, Messenger and X by signing in through a secure link. Limits for each channel: https://www.spacesos.com/limits. How accounts are kept safe: https://www.spacesos.com/safety. ## Plans Plans from $19 a month. The comparison is at https://www.spacesos.com/pricing. - Starter: $19 a month, 1 account. Same key and limits; only that channel's accounts and tools. An account from another channel is refused. - Onboarding MCP (no key): https://api.spacesos.com/mcp/start - This file: https://www.spacesos.com/llms.txt and https://api.spacesos.com/llms.txt and https://app.spacesos.com/llms.txt - Longer copy: https://www.spacesos.com/llms-full.txt and https://api.spacesos.com/llms-full.txt - Docs: https://www.spacesos.com/docs and https://www.spacesos.com/docs/agents - OpenAPI: https://www.spacesos.com/openapi.json and https://api.spacesos.com/openapi.json - Discovery: https://www.spacesos.com/.well-known/mcp.json and https://api.spacesos.com/.well-known/mcp.json - Health: https://api.spacesos.com/health Auth: API keys start with spc_live_ and are sent as Authorization: Bearer. MCP uses the same header. The onboarding server does not use a key. ## Connect your AI client Setup steps for each client, checked against its own docs: https://www.spacesos.com/agents. Every client uses https://api.spacesos.com/mcp and signs in with OAuth in the browser; an API key header also works. - Claude Code: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/claude-code - Claude (web and desktop): https://www.spacesos.com/agents/claude - Cursor: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/cursor - Codex: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/codex - ChatGPT: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/chatgpt - Grok: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/grok - OpenClaw: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/openclaw - Hermes: https://www.spacesos.com/agents/hermes ## What an agent can do on each channel Every tool, by channel: https://www.spacesos.com/channels (WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Messenger, X). Full reference with REST routes: https://www.spacesos.com/docs/reference. The same list is in https://www.spacesos.com/llms-full.txt. ## Comparisons Honest comparisons for business owners, with when each tool is the better choice: https://www.spacesos.com/compare - Spaces vs Zernio: https://www.spacesos.com/compare/zernio - Spaces vs ManyChat: https://www.spacesos.com/compare/manychat - Spaces vs respond.io: https://www.spacesos.com/compare/respond-io - Spaces vs WATI: https://www.spacesos.com/compare/wati - Spaces vs Tidio: https://www.spacesos.com/compare/tidio ## Set up a person 1. Ask for their email. 2. POST https://api.spacesos.com/v1/signup with {"email":"..."}. Response: signup_id, expires_at. Spaces emails a 6-digit code. 3. POST https://api.spacesos.com/v1/signup/verify with {"signup_id":"...","code":"123456"}. Response includes api_key (spc_live_, shown once). Store it. Do not print it in public. 4. Checkout: POST https://api.spacesos.com/v1/messaging/billing/checkout with Authorization: Bearer and {"success_url":"https://app.spacesos.com/dashboard","cancel_url":"https://app.spacesos.com/dashboard"}. Give the person the returned url. Checkout collects a card. Do not connect an account before checkout finishes. Plan details: https://www.spacesos.com/pricing. 5. Connect: POST https://api.spacesos.com/v1/messaging/accounts/connect-link with {"channel":"whatsapp"|"instagram"|"linkedin"|"messenger"|"telegram"|"x"|"gmail"|"outlook"|"imap"}. Give the person the url. WhatsApp and Telegram use a QR code. The others are a sign-in, including a second factor when the platform asks for one. Call it again for another account. Each WhatsApp number is its own account. 6. GET https://api.spacesos.com/v1/messaging/accounts and confirm the account. 7. Add the MCP server. API keys still work: claude mcp add --transport http spaces https://api.spacesos.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ". Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor can also connect with OAuth: discovery is https://api.spacesos.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server, registration is POST /oauth/register, and the authorize page is https://api.spacesos.com/oauth/authorize. PKCE S256 is required. A 401 from /mcp includes WWW-Authenticate with the protected-resource metadata. The server card is https://api.spacesos.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json. ## What an agent can do - List accounts, list the inbox, list chats, read messages, download attachments (images, files, voice, video, GIFs), reply, and start a chat. - Instagram: DMs through the chat tools. Comments and a private reply from a comment into a DM when the platform allows that reply. - LinkedIn and Instagram comments: list your posts, list comments and replies, reply, react, and delete your own comment. Instagram can also send the commenter a direct message. Comment replies have their own caps (LinkedIn 5 an hour and 30 a day, Instagram 4 an hour and 20 a day). Hiding a comment is not available. Messenger Page comments and X replies are not available. New comments arrive as comment.received. A routine can reply to a keyword in a comment and, on Instagram, message the commenter. - Email: list, read, send, and reply on one thread, with attachments. No bulk send. - Workflows: sequences of LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram steps, with delays, stop when the person replies, and the same per-account send limits as a normal message. - More account, chat, LinkedIn, email and calendar actions are MCP tools (list with tools/list). Writes use the same per-account limits. Email needs the mail:read or mail:send scope. Calendars need calendar:read or calendar:write. The coverage table is in the repository at docs/provider-coverage.md. - Webhooks for new messages. Safety limits are enforced on every key. Over a limit the answer is 429 with retry_after_seconds. Nothing was sent. Wait, then retry with the same Idempotency-Key. - Schedule a message: POST /v1/messaging/schedules with send_at (local, 2026-11-03T09:00) and timezone. List, edit, cancel. Routines: POST /v1/messaging/routines. Triggers: daily, interval, cron, or an event (new message, keyword, connection accepted, no reply after N hours). Actions: send a message, reply from snippets on the routine, tag the chat, call a webhook, or email an unread summary. Pause, resume, delete, and read runs. MCP: schedule_message, create_routine, list_routine_runs. Every routine send uses the same limits. A 429 delays the job. A paused account stops it. - Message only people who expect to hear from the account owner. No bulk or cold messaging. ## Account safety Spaces reduces ban risk with enforced limits, warm-up, pacing and auto-pause. It cannot guarantee the platform will not restrict the account. Do not work around a limit. On 429, wait retry_after_seconds and retry with the same Idempotency-Key. If the account is paused, stop. Check GET https://api.spacesos.com/v1/messaging/usage or the MCP tool get_messaging_usage before bulk work. A send returns account_safety with remaining_today, remaining_this_week, paused and reason. ## Safety limits (per account) WhatsApp: 15 seconds between messages, 200 a day, new chats 5 an hour and 10 a day. No new chats for 24 hours after connecting, then 1 an hour and 3 a day in week one. The ramp lasts four weeks. Instagram: 15 seconds, 80 a day, new chats 6 an hour and 20 a day (2 an hour and 8 a day in week one). LinkedIn: 20 seconds, 100 messages a day, new chats 8 an hour and 30 a day (8 a day in week one). A normal message is for a 1st-degree connection. inmail true sends an InMail. A connection request with a note is send_invitation. Invitations 5 an hour, 20 a day, 100 a week (5 a day in week one). Profile views 80 a day. Searches 30 a day. Comments 30 a day. Reactions 50 a day. Posts 3 a day. Messenger: 20 seconds, 40 a day, new chats 3 an hour and 8 a day (1 an hour and 3 a day in week one). Telegram: 20 seconds, 80 a day, new chats 5 an hour and 20 a day (8 a day in the first week). X: 20 seconds, 100 a day, new chats 5 an hour and 20 a day (6 a day in week one). Gmail, Outlook, IMAP: 20 seconds, 80 a day, 40 new threads a day. One email at a time. No warm-up ramp. Replies in an existing chat are not held by the warm-up. The same cold text cannot be sent to many people. If someone says stop, later sends in that chat are refused. A restricted or checkpoint account cannot send until it is reconnected.
